Christmas

Hit the AT late this afternoon for a solo Christmas run.  I wanted to get out early, but it didn't happen.  I've been fighting some kind of cold/allergy nonsense and my ear has been closed for several days now.  But enough of that.
The trail was muddier than it has been.  I came upon a young man hiking and we exchanged waves.  Further down the trail, I saw an older woman walking her older dog.  She wished me a Merry Christmas and a good run - the folks on the trails are almost always really nice here.  Otherwise, I was on my own and got into a nice cruise pace and just truly enjoyed the trail.  Legs felt good and I got in about 7 miles.  Not as long as I hoped, but still good miles for the week and more base for when the Peaks training starts...
Stocking I made for my niece

Briellen's first Christmas! (underwhelmed)

Briellen truly does look "underwhelmed". I like that about her.
